With Prior out indefinitely with a swollen elbow, where would you draft him in a standard default yahoo 12 team 5x5 Roto league?
Without the injury I was seeing him go anywhere from the mid 2nd round to the mid 3rd round. But assuming everyone in your league knew about the injury where do you think he'd go?
Then I have the quandry of figuring where he should go in our keeper league. Whatever round you draft the player in is the same round he gets slotted onto your team in the following years draft.
To be perfectly honest, with Prior now being injured two straight years, I would not draft him. I would let another owner pick him up and worry about his troubles. ANother (-) in my estimation, of how Dusty handles Ps...especially young ones. If I were put on the spot, though, I would consider taking a flyer on him in the after you have already drafted your ace, so approximately 5-7 rounds, dfepending on how many teams.
Again, though, I would not touch Prior now. Injuries happen more than once for a reason. Too much risk for a high pick

i completely agree. let some other owner deal with the heartbreak. take sheets or oliver and laugh all the way to the bank.
At this point, I'd consider him as an SP2 in about Round 7. However, he won't fall that far unless his prognosis gets worse, at which point I drop him from my rankings altogether.

To be fair this is not Dustys fault at all. Prior has only pitched
116
211
118
innings in his first 3 seasons. Now that is mostly because of time spent injured but to blame Dusty for that with such a small workload in the majors? That is hardly abusing him.

What might be overlooked in those innings is the workload Prior pitched during the entire season....inlcuding the college season, and the minors. Also, Dusty is known to be mnurder on youngsters...the proof is right before our eyes....Prior has perfect mechanics, and is as strong as a horse, but a young hsoulder can only take so much...at 23, he should not have thrown 200+ innings
