I've been in a few forums and still have no idea what "bumps" and "sticky's" is. I'll look around for the 'splainin so youse don't feel obligated to help a brother newb out. Dems sound like alot of fun, though.

Bumps are people bumping (moving) up their thread. Sticky's are threads that important, informative that mods post at the top of all threads for everyone to see. Hope this helps.

I hate threads like this- for some reason many forums feel compelled to have these threads that always stay at the top of the page and state something in big capitol letters like "ATTN: BEFORE YOU START POSTING READ ALL OF THIS!!!!"

I know some of you think they are a good idea because you think they save everyone's time, but I think you should calm down and cool it on caps lock- in the grand scheme of things, they are a waste of everyone's time- how many newbie posters are going to struggle through this thread (which is 65+ comments and 7+ pages) to learn all the ins and outs of the site before they post? Even if you read it all, that's a lot to take in.

All this thread does now is clog up the message board because it sits atop it with a rambling series of posts. How about you delete this post and just have a link on the side to rules/pointers or something like that (you can even use all caps on the link if it makes you feel better)?

I feel like we need some kind of site-wide announcement about where to place new topics.

If you have a question about a player in general ("How do you think Cory Luebke is going to do this year?"), that's Leftovers.

If you want to talk about recent news regarding a player ("Pineda to start the season on DL") that's Injuries & Player updates.

If you want to ask a SPECIFIC question regarding your team ("drop X, pick up Y, trade Z, keep W?"), that's DTKW.

If you want to ask a GENERAL question regarding your team, that's Analyze/Rate My Team.

I know people feel like DTKW is the most heavily trafficked forum, so that's where they want to place their question, but these days it seems like every 5th post should go in a different section. It's starting to get annoying.

I think we need a board app that zaps people through their keyboards when they post topics in the wrong place. That obviates any real need for a long winded explanation since we can just let natural selection take it's course.
