The Nationals I guess want Wily, if this does happen I would have to see Ryan Freel getting more playing time and if someone (Griffey) gets hurt then Freel would be the replacement.. If this comes true don't you think Freel's value would increase a little??

I don't see it happening, there have been rumors all off season about Pena. But I doubt the Reds are dumb enough to move him with 1 OF who pretty much is a certainty of getting hurt, and another who has been hurt a good majority lately. I don't even know who they could offer, as the Reds would obviously want pitching.

Nationals general manager Jim Bowden would love to reacquire Reds outfielder Wily Mo Pena, recently offering pitching prospect Mike Hinckley

If the reds will do it or not is another story but that is what I read..

Yeah I've heard that rumor lately, but I doubt that is enough for the Reds to consider moving Pena ... and that's about the only pitching prospect bargaining tool they have. Bowden wants Pena cause he used to be with the Reds and evidently really likes the kid, I just don't think they have enough to offer a team that will need Pena, sooner more then later.

unless the nats can deal away endy (det?) and nick johnson, i would not like this deal. one thing the nats have is too many outfielders already.

hinkley is one of few good prospects in their farm system, and pitching is something that cin would need though, so i could see something worked out. :-?

I would think the Nats will move one of their starting pitchers for Wily. Could be an interesting deal.

true, they do have three guys fighting for the 5th starter spot. not sure if cincy would be for any of them though. :-?

Yeah, Nats would need to give up more than one of their starters. But the trade talks could really heat up if someone like Armas starts off hot.
