Since I don't like having other managers have to pay for fantasy leagues, but I wanted to incent some co-workers to play, I decided to give out prizes throughout the '05 fantasy baseball season.
I went to Shinders (Is that only a MN business?) and found some sweet 2001 bobbleheads for $1.99 each. They're from the 2001 PlayMakers series put out by Upper Deck.
Shinders had them originally marked anywhere between $19.99 and $9.99 each, but were clearancing them out. I realize you can get deals close to this on eBay, but this saves me the shipping costs.
Anyway, I thought I was good find and a decent idea to give out as prizes for the '05 season.
Oh, yeah, our third place winner gets an 8x10 action photo autographed by former MN Twin Scott Stahoviak. Picked that up for $1.99 as well (but it's actually a sweet action shot). Woo-hoo!
Win the league and get a bobblehead? Lol. Sounds good to me!

Winner receives 5 bobbleheads (sealed in orig pkg) A-Rod, Jeter, Pujols, Ichiro & Ripken Jr.
2nd Place gets a box of 2003 Topps Series I (sealed in orig pkg)
We'll see how it goes.
Here's a thought, maybe let 1st place choose out of the two prizes and then 2nd place gets the other one? Myself, I'd rather have the cards instead of the bobble heads. Some of the guys in the league might feel the same way. Just an idea.

Thanks! I was debating that. Hearing it from someone else confirms I should make that offer (allow 1st to choose). Good idea!

Terrific idea. Won't set you back much, and will both add interest to the league and perhaps create some memories ("These things? Won 'em the year I had Pujols and Hudson!").
