I have the number 1 waiver position, is anyone of these players worth using it for?
Once waivers have passed any ideas on how to tweak my team a little bit?
Well, Batista is officially Toronto's closer, so you could certainly use him on your team. And Putz could get the Seattle closers job if things don't improve for Guardardo - keep an eye on that situation.
I don't think you need all those hitters on your bench; the problem is, none of the available starters really jump out at me as worth picking up. Lowry, maybe, but certainly not for a #1 waiver.
I wouldn't bother using your waiver position like this guy said wait until waivers passes and pick up up someone. but i like lowry and c. lee is kind of overlooked the indians are going to be solid this year and he won 14 games last year.
Do you think I should go ahead and use my waiver position to grab a closer since I am so weak at this position?Just looked at the available players a little more and saw Mike Adams is also available. I'm guessing if I don't get one or both of these closers I will be dead last in saves. I'm also thinking I'll grab 1-2 more starters and get rid of a bench player or 2, most likely LaRoche and Polanco.
i would def try and pick up adams but i'm not sure it's worth your waiver position. he'll probably pick up 30 saves so it can't hurt. is borowski available? or maybe even toronto's closer who i believe is batista now? i wouldn't go too crazy over saves just stay on top of the waiver wire.
There are a few teams that are loaded at the closer position and quite a few that are lacking. I'm thinking that if I don't take advantage of my waiver position I could lose out on all of these guys. What are your thoughts about using the waiver position with these factors?
Agree that RP is a concern and almost any of suggestions is an improvement, but I would be more concerned about the injury problems with your rotation. I can see you whole rotation on the DL at some point - Peavy (has been abused to date with WAY too many IP, Sabathia having issues now with oblique, Ol Perez having a tweak in shoulder and getting hammered over the weekend, Colon waiting for the annual problem). You will need to be lucky to get through the season with these guys.
