Every year you hear stories of ESPN drafts gone bad and how they give away free teams to make up for it. How canyou be that messed up as a business to cntine to have such problems year in and year out?

worse yet, it appears they have succeeded in making their stats completely useless.

i am in agreement that espn blows except for their stat services. there is no way that i'd pay money for one of their leagues or their 'insider' services. yahoo is great and i have been running a 12 team keeper league on their for 4 years with no problem. i cant see why someone would pay money for anything else except auction leagues.

I also probably would not pay for their insider services, but at least for the time being you can get a free one month trial subscription, which I am taking advantage of in preparation for my draft. I have my phone programmed to remind me a few days before the trial ends to call and cancel my subscription. I also have to say that I think these guys are no more full of sh!t than any other opinionated fantasy baller. The combination of the Cafe, Karabell's Buzz column, Hot/Not, and Out of the Box last year helped propel me from a mediocre draft to nearly taking my league in my FB rookie season.
My friends and I use Yahoo's private league for this and FFB, and I've been quite satisfied. For those who have tried Yahoo and choose to use pay sites, what advantages do they offer?

Customization is better. Interface is a damn site better, reports and stat searches, live scoring, email and wireless alerts, etc. Rank lists and java based draft room are pretty good. For money leagues or very serious leagues, I rather pay 10-12 dollars an owner and get something that is very good. Yahoo is fine and you can certainly live with it, but for the price of a cup of coffee a month I do not see why in a serious league you would quibble about upgrading. Just the live scoring and reports alone are worth 2 dollars a month. You can also pay for Yahoo Plus, but at that poin, why bother at all with Yahoo.

Just a reminder to watch the language used. Notice the title of your thread was changed?

A bit harsh. The s*** word is hardly a profanity these days and it wasn't directed at anyone or used in a nasty way. Anyway how many strikes before you're out.
