Tejeda or Soriano

Postby MaggsIsMint » Sun Mar 13, 2005 10:43 pm

My draft is next Sunday and I have the 6th pick. I anticipate that the best of the best in Beltran, Pujols, Guerrero and Rodriguez will all be gone before my pick.

That leaves me in a postition to jump in and take a player from a thinner position, like the middle infield. Right now I am strongly considering Miguel Tejada and Alfonso Soriano.

I know that 2nd base is thinner than short, but then Tejeda also had better numbers last year.

Who would be the better pick in this spot because I am having a lot of trouble deciding.

And its a 5x5 mixed roto league.

Tejada without a doubt. Soriano shouldn't even be considered here.

Wow. Tejada without a thought. 150RBI's last year. Now, with that lineup that he is in? He is going to be a complete Monster...and on top of that, he plays SS!!

Tejada, Soriano could bounce back and Tejada would still have a better season ;-D

I like the support for Tejeda and would feel way more reassured in selecting him now.

But now that you guys think he is better than Soriano is he still a better pick than Abreu, Johnson and Santana? Becuase I have seen some expert mock drafts where he has fallen behind those 3 and even Bonds.

i am in the same position as you (6th pick in a mixed 5x5 league). i am also assuming that those top 4 will be gone and ive gathered that the #5 guy is leaning towards abreu. i am without a doubt going with tejada. i would go with tejada at #5 before any pitcher (im not a fan of drafting pitchers that early and tejada is mr.consistent) so if i were you, go with tejada no doubt, you can still grab a great sp and of on the way back, but tejada is heads above the ss pack.

Abreu if he is still there, otherwise Tejada. But don't expect 150 RBI out of him, if anything that lineup will produce worse this year and its unlikely he'll drive in that high of a percentage of runs again this year.
