forget him. i hate dealing with managers who overrate their players. Go after schmidt instead.

The most likely scenario is that he's an idiot who will never accept a reasonable trade offer.
However, another scenario is that he senses that you really, really want Sheets and he wants to see just how bad. This would be a pretty sharklike play.
Either way, he's probably not the most desirable trading partner in the world.

Sounds like either he's a fantasy imbecile, or he's very attached to Sheets. (His team name isn't "Under the Sheets," or anything, is it? That could be a giveaway...)

That manager is a moron, and I hope he looses your league. I hate when managers in the legaue that I am playing in always DEMAND that they get the obvious better end.

Trading 101 says to get the best player in the deal.
That said I'd try a Ortiz for Sheets 1for1 and see if he counters.
If he comes up with another off the wall counter just move on and try later.
Everyone thinks they have THE team before the season.

Many people offer really stupid trades before the season starts.
I love when they will offer some guy they picked up in the 9th for a player I chose in the 5th.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
