I am looking forward to adding Street to my team because we count HOLDs. I do not think he will be closing as long as the A's are contending.
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!

Dont count on him getting holds either. Calero is the setup man.
Various pitchers can get credit for holds each game. It's not like saves.

Exactly right nettles. Hopefully CAlero and Street will be like Linebrink and Otsuka.
By the way...Calero is out there, too. I have to get him instead of Street. Oh well.

apparently the kid has above average-good stuff and a terrific makeup for a reliever. his rapid rise through the organization and his sucess in college reflect his. On top of that, beane is obviously more than willing to pawn off his closer if the value is right. if the deadline rolls around and the A's are far behind in the west(as i expect them to be) he wont hesitate to send dotel to a contender. if that happens, street will probably get a shot.
That being said, he probably isnt worth a draft pick in a mixed non-keeper league unless it is very deep. I doubt dotel gets dealt early in the season, so unless you can afford to roster an inexperienced set-up man in a cluttered bullpen, you need to wait on street. Grab him off the WW if dotel struggles or is dealt, but i wouldnt draft him yet.
welcome home andy

Interesting because about the only thing I use ESPN for is their Added/Drop list and avg draft list and Street has skyrocketed to 83.7% ownership in ESPN leagues for some inexplicable reason. Was wondering why. Someone must have published something about him being a closer in waiting.
