SF locals, How good is Lowry?

First of all, Jaret Wright is undervalued right now because everybody thinks he is overvalued. Yes, the Yankees paid too much for him, but that doesnt mean he is Shawn Estes. Keep Wright, and dump El Duque. I actually think El Duque could surprise some people this year, but he so old that some kind of injury is almost a given this year.

Not true. The Giants should win the West, and I think they will win 100 games. Bonds-Schmidt is probably the best pitcher-hitter tandem in the majors (RJ and Arod are close, though), and the role-players Sabean brought in this year (Alou, Matheny, Vizquel) should provide excellent defense and solid hitting (with the exception of Matheny ). The addition of Armando Benitez gives the giants that closer they've missed since the loss of the Nen. Last year, if they had had a stud closer like Benitez, I'd say they could have won 8 more games.

Don't drop any of your pitchers, they are all worth more than Lowry. Don't get caught up in the hype of a half-season of success for a 24 yr old and don't get caught up in the Wright anti-hype.

Hermanson. 17/20. 7K/9. He was a fine closer in the second half of the season. Benitez is a good pitcher, of course, but they overpaid for him.

I think 95 wins is the highest they'll get.

Please don't get Lowry, for some reason fantasy baseball managers also put tremendous amount of faith in rookies or youngsters. If you want a good SF pitcher see if Jerome Williams is still there, plus he is from Hawaii .

Remember Herges? He blew countless wins in the first half. If the Giants had had a closer who pitched like Hermanson's second half over the entire year, as Benitez should, at least ( ) 8 wins would have been added to the giants record, which brings their total to 99. This year their team is better even if Benitez isnt included, so shouldnt they win more than last year? 100 wins is just about where they should be, if not more.

Noah was never GREAT in the minors, but he seems to have a solid makeup and good stuff. I'd take him over El Duque because the young Giants pitcher will have more stable trade value.

I just watched Lowry's archive game on Sept.22nd of last year vs Houston on MLBTV. He was pretty damn phenomenal. 7K in a playoff-like atmosphere.
