I get the clicking sound, and always end up with Disc Read Error's. My brother's got an XBOX but I don't really like it and I have invested alot of money into my PS2.

Never happened to me. I have both system and love having each of them, I wouldn't want to have just one.

Anyways PS and Xbox are going to be coming out with new game consoles in a year or so I believe.

XBOX 2 or "Xenon" is due to come out in November of this year. The Revolution or Gamecube two and the PS3 in 2006.

hmmm, have you tried lubing up the rail that the laser slides on? The clicking sound is the laser not being able to slide fluently.

Spartan's, I have the same problem with mine. It stopped working a few weeks ago and i'm in a state of disarray. It just doesn't read any of the discs anymore. I found alot on the net about how to try and fix it, by adjusting the lens height and cleaning it out but nothing has worked. Im just gonna assume the lens is screwed. I might see how much to get it repaired otherwise I could probably try and buy a lens off ebay and try and replace it myself :-o

And no I wont cross over to the Xbox. If Xbox had gran turismo 4, i may consider it.
