Giants going to give up on Foppert?

Postby jebatzel » Sat May 03, 2003 11:04 pm

"Jesse Foppert - S - San Francisco Giants May 3

Jesse Foppert allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings today to pick up his first major league victory.
Foppert's control deserted him today, as he walked six batters. It's best to stick with him as long as the Giants do, but it is a possibility that he won't get another start. "

Are the Giants going to give up on him?

I don't think any new manager is going to want to rely on 2 rookies in his rotation for too long.

I needed the win today, but I'm cutting his azz.

i'm betting he stays with the giants. his control is an issue (as is his upper-80s fastball), but everywhere I read says he's not getting hit hard. If he were dropped in our (NL only) league, I'd probably take a chance on him.

Hmmm...or, I should say, unless there were someone better on the waiver wire, I wouldn't drop him yet.
Good luck!

they posted your answer today, you probably saw it.

"Jesse Foppert will remain in the San Francisco rotation, manager Felipe Alou said after yesterday's game."

Thats the green light! Full speed ahead if you got him, or try to steal for your next waiver wire drop... ;-D

Brandon Webb is pitching better, probably go for him instead.
