Starting pitchers, Relief Pitchers, or hitters???

Postby mits » Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:04 pm

I am new to fantasy baseball and am in a small 6 team league (points only). In this league you need to start two starting pitchers, two relief pitchers and three other pitcher. Would it be to my benifit to have three closers in the last three spots or three starting pitchers?
The scoring for my league is points only. Points are as follows:
hitting stats - AB (1), R (3), H (2), 1B (1), 2B (2), 3B (3), HR (4), RBI (3), SB (2), BB (.5), K (-2)
Pitching stats - IP (1), W (3), L (-2), CG (8), SV (3), H (-1), R (-2), ER (-2), HR (-3), BB (-.5), K (4)
Max innings pitched : 1250
Here’s my team:
C - J. Lopez
1st - D. Ortiz
2nd - C. Utley
3rd - H. Blalock
SS - K. Matsui
OF - Beltran
OF – S Sosa
OF - Ordonez
Util - J. Damon
Bench - R. Sexson
Bench - C. Figgins
Bench - M. Olivo
Bench – J Pierre

SP - R. Johnson
SP - Pedro M.
RP - M. Rivera
RP - K Foulke
P - M. Mulder
P - Isringhausen
P - Eddie Guardado
Bench - B. Madritsch

Bench positions can vary, for example I don't have to have any bench positions for my pitchers and use have all my bench spots be hitters and vise versa. Should I fill my bench spots with hitters or pitchers?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
