Maggs homers in first game

Postby Cornbread Maxwell » Fri Mar 11, 2005 5:12 pm

Maggs hit a HR today in his first action wearing the olde english D.

Inge continues to have a stellar spring as does Rondell White - 2HRs today for Inge, 1 for White.

Just a little preseason news for the faithful. ;-D

Maggs is a stud. Central Division champs? Not out of the question. The AL Central will be a great race this year.

Maggs is one of the best hitters in the game. I think he gets slightly over-looked because he's a quiet guy and hasn't played in the spotlight. Just a pure hitter.

There's a lot of talk about how Comerica National Park will ruin his HR numbers, but the man has got serious power. If his knee holds up...could Maggs be in the All-Star game this season?

He might lose out on a few HR's, but overall he'll be fine. He's an elite hitter who impacts the lineup in more ways than just HR's, as opposed to a classical "swing for the fences on every swing" hitter like Jeromy Burnitz.

??? The central can be had by who has the best pitching and can avoid any serious injury. So yes, it is up in the air. But I would vote for the Indians to win the Central.
