Idiot commish in my league

Postby Big85Blue85 » Fri Mar 11, 2005 1:31 pm

We had this HORRIBLE deal this week - Eric Milton for Danys Baez. The guy that got Milton could have had him off waivers for nothing the week before, then he turns around and deals him for a 30 save closer. Before the deal is even processed, the owner that gets Milton quits and is replaced with someone who would NOT have done the deal.

So what does the commish do? He processes it because the guy getting Baez gave him several reasons to... of course HE would.... that's a load of crap.

Am I right?

That is sort of ridiculous but the commish may be making a 'free trade' type of statement as much as a statement about that particular trade. I suspect that the biggest problem is having an idiot who'd make and provide reasons for a trade and then quit. Why bother? Then you get another idiot who would take over a team of the quitter and stick with it after the Commish forces a ridiculous trade on him. There's all sorts of room to apportion blame here but all of that seriously deducts from the overall fun of the exercise. Too bad!!

It certainly is no fun playing in a league where idiots are allowed to ruin it while the commish does nothing.

I'm about ready to quit that league... anyone here need an active (all season) owner for a league? I heavily prefer a free league at this pt, as well as H2H pts.. but roto may suffice.

Aren't the commish's hands tied there? It's not a great trade, but at least it is debateable. Once the decision to allow or veto the trade was made, it doesn't matter if the guy quits....the trade was allowed no matter whom is the owner.
