Strong on pitching, but...

Postby stomperrob » Fri Mar 11, 2005 12:52 am

Every year I draft 4 teams and I always draft one heavy on pitching to see how far I can take the team (last year my P team was mired in 6th most of the season due to a lot of injuries but I rallied and won my league).
What do you think of this year's effort (standard Yahoo h2h, autodraft):

C J Kendall
1B J Snow
2B M Bellhorn
3B A Boone
SS C Izturis
OF J Guillen
OF J Burnitz
OF L Berkman
Ut F Thomas
BN R Freel
BN G Jenkins

SP R Johnson
SP J Santana
SP C Schilling
SP K Wood
SP R Halliday
SP A Pettitte
SP D Lowe
RP K Foulke
RP F Cordero
RP M Batista

I'm thinking of dumping Bellhorn for C Utley, and dumping Snow for Dimitri Young. Not sure what to do with Thomas at this point given his injury status.

i would defiently drop belhorn for utley.
and your starting pitching is defiently very strong, but your relief looks kinda weak. Your offense is pretty bad, but obviously you don't need me to tell you that. You'll probably actaully make out alright if you keep a close eye on the ww, and pick up players who are on hot streaks.

Thanx - that's how I managed to clinch the championship last year, by constantly watching the WW (plus it helped when all my SP's got healthy too). And yeh, I didn't do so hot with the RP's this year.

Anyone else wanna comment on this crazy experiment???

You'll win the pitching cats, save saves. Could be fun to wheel and deal enough to get your hitting close enough to allow yer pitchinf to take you over the top, tho it needs effort.

Wow when you said strong on pitching you weren't kidding. You have 4 cats locked up, I just don't know if your hitters will be able to keep up...
