Would you still take Baez (4SV, 3BS) over Ryan (11SV, 1 BS)?

And how bout them 'stros? I think the over/under on their offense is 500 runs!

lol...

how bout them A's? :-D

Isn't he an Orioles fan? :-D

I think he's probably referring to my frequent defense of the A's offense.

'course, I wasn't silly enough to bet on my A's prognostications!

For your sake, I'd just pretend you never defended the As offense :-D

I'm still expecting them to finish middle of the pack in runs. They passed two teams today in runs scored.

That makes them like 27th now, doesn't it? :-b

Sorry to butt in, but no matter how you explain away Baez's troubles, Ryan has been downright filthy. Forget his saves, his Ks alone are wonderful.
I'm back. Sorta.

Do not boo Johnny.

Houston guy, you need to admit serious defeat here.

Ryan is having a Lidge like breakout year right now. He's on pace for 150 K's this season. I think he's worth that 11th round pick (even though I got him in the lucky 13th round).

Even if Baez rights the ship, it won't matter.

Projection of Ryan's final line:
90 IP 45 SV 140 K 1.9 ERA 1.1 WHIP

Say hello to an eric gagne like season.

Hehe..

If you guys are comparing Ryan to Gagne, you're getting a tad carried away. Gagne never had a whip over 0.91 as a closer. Ryan's currently at 1.17. Big difference there. The interesting thing about Ryan is that his whip against righties is 1.22. His whip against righties was 1.48 last year, and 1.58 for his career. So Ryan is definately doing better against righties this year. That's the key to his success so far and something which I will admit I didn't see coming.

I do find it curious that I am the one who has to defend his pre-season predictions. Should I be honored? Or am I that hated? :-D

I was down on Ryan for the same reason, and I admit defeat.

But I was sure as hell right about Kolb!
