Dallas out??? Robb Quinlan super...

Postby Purple Haze » Thu Mar 10, 2005 5:43 pm

With Dallas expected to miss opening day...I believe Quinlan may be a nice sleeper...Back injuries don't heal as quickly as "Dallas" owners would like... Quinlan has never received enough AB's..Maybe this will be his shot..Regardless he will be extremely cheap, and could end up being a Great Value pick... ;-D

This is what I just read...

Robb Quinlan - 3B - Angels

With Dallas McPherson's back injury keeping him out for 2-4 weeks, Robb Quinlan will likely be the Angels' third baseman to begin the season.
''He has terrific hands, and whatever he can get to, he'll catch,'' manager Mike Scioscia said. ''What he lacks in range and arm strength, he makes up for with guts and glory.'' In addition to the glory, Quinlan has outstanding minor league numbers and has hit .323/.375/.469 in two stints with the Angels. He is a major sleeper on draft day. Mar. 10 - 7:50 am et

Quinlan is only getting PT because both McPherson and Kennedy are out. He's not a long term option.

He will also be hitting waaaaaaaaaaaay down in the order in all likelihood. If my 3B gets in hurt for a couple of weeks in April, he could be an option, but as the other post says, I wouldn't bet the farm on him.

I was actually pretty suprised people were drafting Dallas as their starting 3B. Sounded like a recipe for disaster to me. Now the Dallas owners get an extra few weeks to replace him before the season starts instead of finding out a bit late he wasnt much of a fantasy option.
