I live in that area. We have a bunch of bridge/tunnel things like that. You can't leave the area without crossing one.

That is awesome. But it also makes you wonder why the hell they built it like that. Did they build a bridge over 80 percent of the bay and then realize the work order called for a tunnel, and tried to make up for it hoping that no one would notice? Or was it a drunk engineer who one night, nearing the end of this major bridge project, saying, "Dude...it would be sooo cool if we built a bridge underground."

I am pretty sure you have a better chance of dying in a plane than in that bridge

Hey, that's my backyard.

Actually, it's one of four bridge-tunnels here. Ya gotta love living on the Chesapeake Bay. They look really cool in the evening with the lights turned on when flying over them in an airplane.

i suppose it can be considered my backyard too. actually i just went on/through it on my way to Va. beach a week ago.

i thought you're way more likely to die in a car wreck; planes are rather safe.
