So because there are so many arguments at the cafe...None really worth any sort of brain power..but anyways I think the official way to solve all arguments at the cafe should be a Haiku Off!!!

What is the proper form for a haiku? I can't remember all that poem stuff I learned a few years ago.

The first line is five
Second is simply seven
Last line five again

Yeah, that's correct. I googled it and found a few sites that say the same thing you just said. I thought I remembered writing a 3/9/5 one at one time, or something similar to that. I think you can do pretty much whatever you want with 17 syllables, but 5/7/5 is by far the most popular choice.
