Postby acsguitar » Wed Mar 09, 2005 5:27 pm

So because there are so many arguments at the cafe...None really worth any sort of brain power..but anyways I think the official way to solve all arguments at the cafe should be a Haiku Off!!!

Mods please make this a sticky or maybee give it its own section of the forum!

What is the proper form for a haiku? I can't remember all that poem stuff I learned a few years ago.

I know 5/7/5 is the standard, but I know there are different forms as well. I remember one that has way more than 7 as one of the lines....

Yeah, I've heard that too. Isn't the most important thing that the total number of syllables is 17?

Yeah, that's correct. I googled it and found a few sites that say the same thing you just said. I thought I remembered writing a 3/9/5 one at one time, or something similar to that. I think you can do pretty much whatever you want with 17 syllables, but 5/7/5 is by far the most popular choice.

Or we could just delete it.
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
