What would put me over the top?

Postby trippinonreality » Fri May 02, 2003 5:39 pm

When I look at the teams in my 12 team H2H league I think there are really only 5 top teams (barring injury) what do I need to do to put me over the top here is my lineup its hitting heavy because the commish for some reason tilted more towards the hitters. The categories are a little extreme and are as follows:

hitting
runs, hits, singles, doubles, triples, HR , TB, RBI, BB, IBB, SB, Avg, OPS

Pitching
W, Complete games, shutouts, saves, earned runs, walks, K's,GIDP, ERA, Whip

As you can see saves aren't a huge deal which is why I punted them

C Lo Duca, Paul (C, 1B-LA)
1B Delgado, Carlos (1B-Tor)
2B Soriano, Alfonso (2B-NYY)
3B Lowell, Mike (3B-Fla)
SS Garciaparra, Nomar (SS-Bos)
OF Kearns, Austin (RF-Cin)
OF Williams, Bernie (CF-NYY)
OF Ramirez, Manny (LF, DH-Bos)
OF Beltran, Carlos (CF-KC)
Utility Dunn, Adam (LF, 1B, RF-Cin)
Utility Choi, Hee Seop (1B-ChC)
Bench Hinske, Eric (3B-Tor)
Bench Eckstein, David (SS-Ana)
Bench Johnson, Nick (1B, DH-NYY)
Bench Jimenez, D'Angelo (2B, 3B-CWS)
Bench Hairston Jr., Jerry (2B-Bal)
---------------------------------------------
SP Hudson.Tim (SP-Oak)
SP Mulder, Mark (SP-Oak)
RP DeJean, Mike (RP-Mil)
RP Carter, Lance (RP-TB)

IMO i wouldnt do anything. Just be patient some of your hitters are starting off slow, but that will change. For a 12 team leage thats about as good as it gets. If anything trade for a SP. Or dump some of your bench guys for a SP on waivers.

I edited my lineup I thought I had undated my roster but didn't the changes were I got Bernie Williams and Nomar for Tejada and Garret anderson .

Even with my cold bats no one team seems to be matching my hitting stats but I am mostly concerned about my pitching do you think I have enough to get me through? If not what can I part with to get more pitching.

Well you gotta love Mulder and Hudson. Clement is really solid, and plays for a Cubs team that looks like its gonna get him plenty of Wins. I used to be high on Weaver when he was with Detroit. Im not so convinced anymore but hes pretty good and plays for the Yanks that alone earns him a spot in your lineup. Hampton looked good the other night.

I mean really your team is solid all around. When Nen gets back you can even win saves some weeks. If your really worried about your starters do some wavier work and drop one of your second basemen. Im sure theres a decent starter out there somewhere.
