Sean Casey. People are avoiding him like the plague. He's not a huge slugger, but that BA helps a lot. I have him on 3 or 4 teams I think. I also have him valued above Ortiz, and just behind Thome.

its almost my turn for the 8.11 pick in a 5x5 roto 12 team league and i have no 1b yet. would you suggest that i take one? remaining right now are:

hafner
ibanez
casey
green

is it too early for any of these guys or should i get someone to fill another spot such as SP,RP,C, or 2B?

I would not hesitate to pick Hafner. He was touted two years, but only did well last year. I like the lineup and youth of that team, so I would not hesitate to pick him.

while I agree with AA that Shawn Green will blow up this season, I can't get over the fact that LBJ has Casey rated next to Thome, and even went so far as to draft him in the 8th round when he is clearly bieng drafted after the 10th round. I mean if you were that sure about your projections of Casey having a Career year in Homers and RBI's at age 32, why not just take him in the 4th? Wouldn't want to risk somebody else snagging him, know what I mean?

If you want a sleeper 1B though, Grab Bagwell!
He is falling off of everybodies radar, and will easily get you 28-30 HRS, 100 RBIS and maybe even 100 Runs.

.820 OPS isn't bad for a guy that did absolutely nothing after this trade from the Marlins.

Probably get him in one of the final rounds of your draft as well.

The problem with Jacobsen is that he doesn't have a position. Ibanez is the DH and Sexson is the 1B. I doubt they'll bench Winn or Reed, and stick Ibanez in the OF, just to get Bucky Jacobsen AB's. Bucky was a nice story last year but he was 29 before he had any minor league success.

I'm curious, if Randy Winn gets traded (which was my thought when suggesting Jacobsen), do you think Bucky's worth considering?
