Astros 2b?

Read today in a random blog that I can't find now that Burke has been average at best fielding at 2B so far, misplaying several grounders in their first few games.

Granted, it is a spring training field, so badhops are possible, but the author, who is pretty high on him, was a bit disappointed.

Burke and Lamb should get some OF playing time in next week Garner said.

Maybe but I thought that they were gonna give Ensberg another shot. ;-)

If Biggio gets the 2nd base job, where you rank him among other 2nd basemen?

Of off the top of my head, somewhere in the 10-15th range in a redraft league.

From the depth charts I have seen, Biggio is still slated to be the LF, Jason Lane plays CF and Berkman in RF when healthy. Until then, Orlando Palmeiro or possibly Willy Tavarez will play RF... I have even heard that Mike Lamb may take some OF practice. Tavarez is hitting .267 in 15 spring AB with 2 stolen bases. But, he hasn't played above AA if I'm not mistaken (but he did hit .335 and stole 55 bases. I don't think I'd go drafting Tavarez just yet unless 1) it is announced he has the job or 2) you are in a very, very deep league. Just my humble opinion.

I'm not sure why nobody has mentioned Lane playing CF. He has the CF job and should hit 20 homers this year. He hit one today in Spring Training...

I thinks it's because everyone except the Astros have said Lane has the CF job. I think he should and will get it, but at the same time the Astros are making their interest in trading for a CF known and also seem to be awfully hyped and Taveras.

I wouldn't go drafting him til towards the end until the picture gets clearer down there.
