OK, I just read a comment on CBS that Biggio is the favorite to start at 2b for the Stros. Anyone Astros fan know more on this subject and whether CBS is just spinning BS?

From CBS:
The Astros are either very creative with the way they are pushing prospect Chris Burke this spring, or they are really serious about having Craig Biggio as their everyday second baseman this season. Biggio's production is low-end for a Fantasy outfielder, but he becomes an intriguing option once he qualifies as a second baseman in 2005. Burke will still have a say in the matter, but if the season started right now, Biggio would probably be the second baseman. He has played second ahead of Burke when Houston has played at its home spring facility in Kissimmee, Fla., thus far.

I think they will give Burke every chance to play 2nd..they know he's the man for the future.

Do the Astros have a better option than Biggio to start the season on the OF while they are waiting the return of Berkman?
Wouldn't/Shouldn't this mean Burke will start at 2nd?

I also read Biggio was likely to be the starting 2b in a local Houston paper online late last week, sorry don't have the link. Talked about Burke taking some OF practice for a few days.
Maybe Biggio will do some catchin too?
What a mess down there.

Willy Taveras for one...Burke in the OF for another.
Here is another article showing that the whole thing is sort of up in the air.

Either way from what I've been reading on the subject, it sounds like he will at the very least gain his elgibility back as a 2b depending on what your league requirements are.

Just like i thought would happen
Willy Taveras will be starting in cf for the astros just you watch. This competetion is really between burke and Taveras imo the one that does better will reamin a starter after berkman returns.
