Michael Bourn

[Absolutely Adequate]

Has anyone followed him closely enough to tell me if he will decline as he climbs the ladder?

Last year in the South Atlantic league he got on base at a .431 clip and stole 58 bases - while only getting caught 6 times. That's impressive.

But he has no power, which makes me wonder if he'll continue to get on base as better pitchers start to challenge him. Because they can challenge him - he isn't going to knock it out of the park.

Any ideas?

I'm a big fan of Bourn. .430 OBP and 58 SB is gold. Then again he was in the low minors. Baseball America doesn't respect the speedster lead-off guy with no pop too much. Gathright is ranked 87 or so. I think Bourn has a world of potential. He's almost as fast as Gathright, and gets on base at a better clip, even comparing to Gathright's low minors. Bourn actually project to hit a few HR too. Nothing mind blowing, but if you get 8 HR, .300 AVG and 50+ SB that's Carl Crawford Jr. in the future. The only real knock I have against him is that he was 22 in Low-A. Let's see him do it this year at A+ and AA.
