U of I loses!

This was awful!! I go to U of I, and am on campus right now. Worst news ever to wake up too, we're all extremely excited here about our team. Competition in the Big Ten was pretty bad this year. We'll kick ass in the tourney though, I-L-L I-N-I
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

ugh, I'm in Champaign too and it was a pretty grim performance, even though it's a beautiful spring day here.

We saw most of the team (- Dee...) @ a local restaurant on Friday PM and they looked very relaxed, perhaps a bit too relaxed? I also am not particularly thrilled that they seemed to ape Iowa's strategy, which has been the most effective means of slowing them down, so prominently right before the post-season. They will be seeing a lot of that sort of defense I'd imagine.... 8-o 8-o 8-o

wow i saw that game when Illinois was up by 4 with around 3 and a half minutes to go and I figured they would put it away. SHAME on me for turning off my tv!

I really thought they would coast through the season without a loss.

As for walking over them, that would be a good game to watch. I'm not a fan of either team, but UNC does have McCants, Felton and May who can all take over a game.

exactly, it's easy to say unc has definitely been more tested, but all this question is what makes college hoops a million times better than college football because we will all find out who really is the best after the tournament ;-D

yes ..... easily the best college sport......

as far as polls monday,,illinois should still be the #1 team in the country even with the loss...UNC will get a few votes for #1 but illinois should still be #1..... but i would hate to be the team that plays illinois in the big ten tourney this weekend first....... but this probably has been the best day of college basketball in a long time.... 3 games in a row on CBS and all 3 were marvelous games...the illinois game, kentucky game, and unc game were all great, great games.... glad to see march madness has begun....
