Alex Sanchez news...

Postby Cornbread Maxwell » Fri Mar 04, 2005 11:50 am

This is actually something to consider. It could affect his level of committment and mindset this yr - things that have been questioned in the past for Sanchez... ... 265940.xml

Reunited with his mother and brother after more than 10 years. 8-o ;-D

Also - Its great to see him as Juan Samuel's personal project. The fact he had a 7 pitch walk in his first AB speaks volumes. I may have to bump him up the cheat sheet a bit more now. :-?

Wow. Incredible story. In case anybody needed a reminder, stuff like that puts everything in perspective. Great news for Alex and thanks for posting the story, Cornbread.

I saw this story also, and realized the signifigance. Reminded me of the story when Joe Contreras' family rejoined him from Cuba.

On the lighter side, there was a news flash that Sanchez also drew a walk in the second day of spring training. Those who understand will understand.

Great news for Dirty's personal life but will it help him on the field?? Doubtful. Last year everyone said how Contreras was going to return to form when he got re-united with his family but he was absolutely horrible down the stretch. Hopefully Dirty can put it all together now that he will have his family by his side but I'm not holding my breath.

The fact that he took a walk in his first AB of S.T. is promising but I still don't think this guy is the full time answer at CF for the Tigers.
