"If I hit Womack leading off, then I have to come up with a No. 9 hitter," Torre said after yesterday's 2-2 tie in the exhibition opener against Pittsburgh.
"This is the lineup I'm comfortable with. If we were starting the season today, this is the way I'd start it."
This was the lineup he was talking about (obviously, there will be a few changes (Sheffield and Posada will take Sierra and Flaherty's places)...but, apparently, this is basically how it'll be):
Jeter
A-Rod
Giambi
Matsui
Bernie
Tino
Sierra
Flaherty
Womack

Womack will bat 9th. He's a carbon copy of Cairo.

9th. No doubt in my mind
The top 4 are really set in stone I'd think:
Jeter
Alex
Sheffield
Matsui
Then my guess is:
Posada
Bernie
Giambi
Tino
Womack
unitl Giambi proves himself I think he sits at 7 and 6th at best. Once he gets going I think he'd hit 5th or 6th after Posada
