tony womack: Sleeper?

What are your projections on tony womack this year. I havent seen anyone talking about him on here, and think he can have some great value. Hes almost always there at the end of my drafts and hes hitting in a potent lineup.

Yes, he could still produce, but he's terribly inconsistant, and last year was probably his last good year. I hope I'm wrong. I like the guy.

Maybe you should consider changing the title to say "Underrated?" now...

his stats are dependent on his surrounding cast, which is proven by his abnormal performance last year. i'm looking for solid R and SB again this year, but nothing else worth drafting.

I see him as a backup 2B at best. In a 12-team league, I would not want him as my starter.

Just figured I'd mention that, in today's spring training game, he was batting ninth, with Jeter as the leadoff hitter.

If he were to end up as the everyday leadoff hitter for the Yankees, he could score a boatload of runs.

As a Yankees fan, I certainly hope that doesn't happen.

He'll bat ninth in that line-up. Certainly worth more if he lead-off.

I can also see Rey Sanchez getting some playing time at 2B which lowers Womacks value even more.

His BA has the potential kill you and he is batting 9th. There is no way he will come close to replicating his stats last year in St. Louis. The Yankees would have been better off with the what they had last year. I would not want him on my team unless I get in a situation at some point during the season where I am desperate for SBs at any cost. Certainly not a sleeper in my opinion. Overrated.

I agree. It is really a hit or miss with this guy. He could be so bad that he may rot on the bench or he could be a very valuable source of SBs.

Yeah, during the game they were saying that Jeter may lead off and A. Rod will be batting 2nd. I guess A. Rod was disappointed last year in the pitches he was seeing and wanted to bat 2nd.

That will put Womack 9th, and since he won't get as many AB's as he would batting 1st or could get pulled for a PH, he seems to be a risky pick as a starter.

I guess that's the definition of a sleeper.
