5 SPs going today - which to start?

16 team H2H points league in which just about everything is scored including both positive and negative points.

If an SP can make it to at least 5 innings and not give up more than 4 runs, he will generally have a low but positive point total. But, when pitchers blow up in the first 2-3 innings and get pulled, they can end up with negative 15-18 point scores....

Considering that any positive points are good worth starting, Which of these guys should I start today?

Niese at Arizona
Karstens at Houston
Sheets vs Phila
Villaneuva vs Det
Detweiler at Mil

In place of any of these guys who I would not start, I could play RP Frieri vs TB.
I also have Heath Bell or egad Cordero on my bench...

Which starters would you start today?

I would be afraid of the Tigers right now

Karstens makes sense
Niese can hold his own
Philly seems to be hitting better so that's iffy
Detweiler could do ok

Thanks sigriffey! You are always a dependable WHIR-er and I really appreciate it as do I'd guess so many others here on the Cafe.

Villanueva has a very good history both at home and against Detroit. ERA's under 3, Whips under 1.3 and BAA's under 220. He won his last two games at home without allowing a run... so I am hoping he can keep up that trend?

I'd go with Karstens, then Sheets and Niese are a toss up...

Houston has little offense at this point, so that may be the best way to go

I guess I'll just start em all and hope for 3 of them to return big points and 2 of them to at least not go negative on me....
