Cingrani Time!

Postby rotoquest » Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:26 pm

RotoWorld:

Tony Cingrani was pulled after two innings in his start for Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Cingrani will take Johnny Cueto's spot in the Reds' rotation if Cueto's triceps injury forces him to miss time. The left-hander struck out five of the six batters he faced on Sunday and now has 26 strikeouts without allowing a run over his 14 1/3 Triple-A innings this season.

Pretty good sign he will be pitching this Thursday against the marlins. Don't doddle to the waiver wire, go get him now! ;-D

Against Miami, I think I may even give him the start.

Had a FAAB decision between him and Capuano last night. I went with Capuano. I might regret it. Thought was that Greinke will be out longer than Cueto and the whole proven pitcher thing... now watch Cingrani pull a Strasburg in his debut.

Would you drop Marco Estrada or Alex Cobb for him?

Not before seeing him in action. I had the luxury of having Jason Vargas to dump.

Those two would be my only options. I have Gio, Verlander, Miller, Lester , Cobb and Estrada as my starters. Bailey ( Fujijima )on the DL, Grilli, Rivera and Putz as my closers. pretty good pitchers staff.

not sure how deep the league is but I'd look at cutting Bailey if you need someone to drop for him

I'd probably drop Shelby Miller before I dropped Estrada. And I'd drop none of these guys for Cingrani. If it's a really shallow league then it wouldn't hurt to take a chance on him instead of Cobb though, because he has higher upside and if he flops you can just find a waiver replacement.
