All I know in addition is that Martin Prado is heading to the D-backs in exchange. There are more pieces to the deal that I'll have to look up.

Rotoworld has:

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Diamondbacks and Braves have "agreed to" the players involved in a blockbuster trade that centers around Justin Upton.

MLB.com's Mark Bowman says the Braves will receive Upton and Chris Johnson in exchange for Martin Prado, Randall Delgado, Nick Ahmed, Zeke Spruill and Brandon Drury. Upton finished fourth in the National League MVP voting in 2011 after hitting .289/.369/.529 with 31 homers, 21 steals and 88 RBI in 159 games as a 23-year-old. Now 25 years of age, he will be joining his older brother B.J. in Atlanta. It should be a great fit, and great theater.

If Justin Upton could stay on the field and finally put together a few seasons of fully realized potential, than this is great for the Braves. However, that is a big IF.

My thoughts are that I think this is why the Braves signed B.J. in the first place and I'm surprised it took this long for this deal to get done.

I could have thought of a long list of players I would rather give up than Prado (I thought they might trade a Pitcher, but apparently Arizona was not interested) however, when you consider all the players involved, the Braves made themselves better with this trade.

I hope Justin and BJ are as successful as the last brothers that played in ATL!

The media is saying Johnson will platoon with Francisco at 3B. Johnson's splits are .295/.338/.481 vs RHP and .245/.298/.374 vs LHP. Francisco can't even put the bat on the ball versus a lefty, so how does this work exactly?

This is a great move for the Braves. While I like Prado and Delgado has a lot of upside, the thought of having Heyward and Upton centering your lineup for years to come is well worth that price.

Actually surprised that the DBacks took the deal. Maybe they were getting desperate to move Upton. I would have thought that they could have gotten more from Texas if they waited.

As an Upton owner, I am glad it is finally over. I was dreading the thought of going into another year with trade rumors swirling.
