- Mat Latos tied a career high with 13 Ks against the Brewers Monday night, just dominating them in a Complete Game 1-Run affair. As a guy who now owns him in every one of his leagues, I can only hope this is more of the same. He gets Los Gigantes next time out in San Francisco, which is a good opportunity for him to parlay this into more than just one excellent game.
- Anthony Rizzo is expected to make his 2012 debut with the Cubs against the Mets' Dillon Gee today. Expectations are that he will start at 1B and bat 3rd or 4th for Chicago.
- Big Papi rung his 2012 HR total up to 20 with 2 blasts against the Blue Jays in a losing effort. Colby Rasmus added a HR of his own, 2 singles, 2 Runs, and 3 RBI for the winning side.
- Eric Hosmer gave his owners yet another glimpse of hope, filling the stat sheet with a homer, stolen base, and 2 Runs and RBI apiece. Those who were counting on him to be Vottoesque this season are hoping (praying to the Lord Baby Jesus) that this continues beyond just yesterday...
- Luke Hochevar, who I passed on spot starting in favor of Justin $*%&$(% Grimm, threw a Complete Game Shutout, blanking the Rays 8 - 0, striking out 8 while allowing 7 Hits and 1 Walk. Talk about your all-time backfires...
- Travis Wood threw 7 shutout innings against the Mets, because I had Johan Santana starting, and yesterday, even if for one day only, the Mets sucked worse than the Cubs.
- Erasmo Ramirez hates his teammates, as he threw 8 innings of 1 run ball, struck out 10, and earned the Loss last night.
Today's Matchups:
LAA: Wilson (8-4, 2.44 ERA) BAL: Matusz (5-8, 5.00 ERA)
I'm trotting Tim Huddy today against Dan Huddy. Even with Latos' gem last night, I need something to undo the damage I brought upon myself with Justin Grimm
now that Rizzo is up and playing 1B for the Cubs that moves LaHair to the OF. so who loses playing time in OF between Soriano, DeJesus, and Campana? my 1st thought is Campana, but he is leading the majors in SB. I've been looking for SB in a deep private league and someone just offered me Campana for newly picked up Bobby Parnell. I already have Valverde/Motte/Downs/Benoit/Pestano/Bastarado for RP/RP/P/P/P/P so I don't really have an available spot anyway. Parnell is only closing while Francisco is on the DL, plus I wonder how well Parnell will do. then again if Campana is not playing much he's just another bat on the bench. if/when Campana plays, he can steal with ease. I imagine the Cubs are going to try and trade one or both of DeJesus and Soriano anyway right?

Campana will get playing time once they trade one of those two, but those two will play just about every day to build their trade value.
