Projected Lineups

Postby rotoquest » Tue Mar 03, 2009 4:49 pm

Checking through rototimes, cbs, and a few others, I came up with this list for projected lineups which impacts certain players fantasy value. Some of you folks closer to these teams may shed some light on some corrections. For instance I was surprised to see beltran projected in the 2 hole at a couple different sites including rototimes. damn dude. I would've waited until the end of spring training/opening day to compile this kind of info. I guess if it's just projections though then ;-D ;-D thanks. It'll help with my own lineup/rotation projections that i'm doing via MS Word.

some of my speculation:

1-The Cardinals are planning on moving Schumaker to second base and starting Rasmus. That's their current plan.
2-The Astros still don't trust Bourn, so Matsui will most likely lead off to start the year.
3-Helton batting 2nd? I still like Spilborghs-Tulow-Hawpe-Atkins-Helton more, even though it's R-R at the top of the order. Another reason why Carlos Gonzalez should start and lead off for them.
4-With Arizona I might switch Upton and Young. I also see Upton possibly hitting 5th behind Jackson and in front of Reynolds.
5-Isn't Nelson Cruz supposed to hit cleanup?
6-I like Jose Lopez behind Clement with Betancourt hitting 2nd.
7-Ryan Sweeney will probably lead off and Cust+Giambi will probably be separated. Maybe Giambi-Holliday-Cust.
8-Lind behind Wells seems likely. Lind-Rolen-Overbay-Barajas-Snider, maybe?
9-BJ Upton is supposedly leading off.
10-Youkilis-Drew-Bay

i think lewis and sandoval might get swapped in the giants line up. bochy mentioned that he'd like to keep fred's speed in front of molina.

Brewers lineup looks dead on. I think Weeks through Hart (1-5) is set in stone, as is Kendall at 8. Just the rather inconsequential matter of Cameron or Hall hitting 6th vs. 7th. I guess from a fantasy standpoint, I'd rather have Cameron 6th hitting behind Fielder/Hart. Cameron could have a nice little fantasy season as a late round 20/20 guy, if you can tolerate a .250 average.

i also really doubt that reyes ends up in the 3-hole, i'm pretty sure they'll put him back in the leadoff spot when the season starts.

I totally agree, he's the perfect catalyst to ignite that lineup at leadoff.

That would be crazy if Oakland batted 3 lefties in a row...it seems like they should put one of Cust/Giambi in front of Holliday.

Doesn't make sense that the A's would go 3 righties in a row and then 5 lefties in a row.
I think it's too early for many of these projections to be worth much.

Some people draft earlier than others, like next week, and this could be helpful information for those people.

After WBC we'll get to see most of the regulars in a ST game together and get a better idea of lineups. I hate the guys that have potential for batting 1/2 versus 8/9 That's a HUGE change in their value.
