My league does not allow any player to be drafted who was not available on Yahoo! the year before (I believe this is relatively common). Right now I am nearing the end of my keeper draft, and I am thinking about who will be newly available on the waiver wire. Obviously Wieters will be the best player added, but since I don't have the top waiver spot (i'll pick 8th) he probably won't be available. Who else do you think will be added this year and how would you rank them?
Here's some who I think should be in the majors (and thus added to Yahoo!) at some point this year. They're in no particular order Matt Wieters Tommy Hanson Kenshin Kawakami Elvis Andrus Jordan Schafer Trevor Cahill Brett Wallace Brett Anderson Dayan Viciedo

Yeah, I remember when this thread came out. The difference is I'm not as concerned with who will be available at the start of the year as who the best players who will be added in the whole year. I expect Andrus, Wieters, Kawakami, Uehara to be added immediately, but how does Andrus compare to who could be available later? That's more important to me. I'd rather not waste an early waiver spot on a Kawakami if someone much better (i.e. Hanson) is reasonably expected to be available soon after.

I think Uehara, Kawakami, and Viciedo will almost assuredly be added to the yahoo database prior to the season just like Dice-K, Al. Ramirez, and Iwamura so you can simply draft them instead of using your waiver wire priority. Andrus and Weiters will likely make the club out of spring training and therefore are probable to be added prior to the season and you can draft them too.

Did you guys notice that there's a feature in the commish section where you can choose to make players available only after they have appeared in an MLB game. This should solve a lot of the issues that people like Snakes have with too many prospects being in the system.
EDIT: actually it says "New Players" I'm not sure if this would apply to the "new" players that are already in when the game opened or just to new players that are added in-season.
