I haven't looked at too many 12-teamers this year, so maybe I'm all star struck by the 8- and 10-teamers I always rate, but your team doesn't immediately stand out with a wow factor. BUT...you did a great job focusing on players who fit specific categories.
Your OF will provide you the most power (hopefully Joey Bats will stay healthy for you) and I think you'll be competitive with average every week. I'm not really a fan of Escobar at SS, but the position is weak so I don't think there's much room for improvement. Hill is very underrated IMO and I think he'll fit well, especially since you likely got him at a bargain. I don't see any glaring holes in your starting lineup. Not gonna blow people away, but you'll be in the thick of it every week.
As for pitching...you have a very solid staff and several people who, if healthy, can become near aces. My only concern with Gio is the PED thing, but it doesn't seem that's a big deal with him anymore and we know how good he is. Scherzer, Morrow and Samardzjia are going to give you a great amount of Ks and should get you plenty of wins as well. Overall, it rounds out well and you have it covered in every area. I think there are a few minor moves to make based on personal preference at a few positions, but you don't need anything crazy and had a pretty solid draft
Hopefully Rutledge can get consitent PA's because Escobar is really the only hole in your offense.
Solid staff but Shelby isn't guaranteed a job and McDonald is a collapse waiting to happen.
Overall a decent squad. Shadily have a ton of pop especially with Willin and Alvarez (and yes Joey Bats). Just a bit nervous about the back end of your roto (love Griffin though) especially since you are booting saves.
SPs: Gio, Scherzer, Morrow, Samardja, Shelby Miller, McDonald, AJ Griffin
RPs: Romo, Holland, Perkins
I love your outfield for a 12 team league. As a Brewer fan, I think Go-go will have a big year. If he can get on base he'll have 30 steals and he could hit 20 homers with regualr playing time too.
I think Goldschmidt is going to be a stud this year (1-2round pick next year). But aside from him I am not as impressed with your IF.
Pitching-wise I think you have a lot of questions marks. Aside from Gio, there are alot of guys who have mixed histories (Morrow, Scherzer) and young guys who are unproven in the bigs (Smard, Miller, Griffin). Overall pretty good though.
