New Deal for Bailey, Dunn, and Willingham

Postby silentjim » Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:47 am

Edit: Second deal proposed to me that has me giving Gyorko, Jemile Weeks, Ernesto Frieri, and Chris Archer for Dunn, Willingham, and Homer Bailey. Thoughts?

I can't tell if I'm stupid for asking this, but a manager in my 20 teams 25 player dynasty leagues has been bombarding me with deals for Puig and I've held steadfast and turned them all down. Most of the deals were centered around a package of Ellsbury for Puig and some of my other younger players. Finally after many a trades rejected he finally just offered Ellsbury for my Puig straight-up. This league is H2H and we count OPS and holds on top of the normal 5x5.

I guess I'm kind of caught in between rebuilding and performing now (finished 10th last season) and trading veterans is not only hard but the return value is crappy, so moving my "elite" players" isn't really a viable option at this point. I'll just be super annoyed if Puig turns into a monster fantasy-wise. I'm not high on Ellsbury, but clearly he's still a legit fantasy option even if he only hits 15 homers from here on out. My OF is weak for sure. My team is below. Am I dumb for even second guessing this? I need to stop reading about Puig being the next Pujols or Bo Jackson.

Yeah, you need to do this trade immediately. Puig is a hit or a miss, years away from his potential, and is only sometimes ranked in the top 50 in prospects for 2013. You are trading a maybe for a sure thing, even if Ellsbury isn't amazing. Do the deal man.

As an add on to this (I accepted the deal of Ellsbury for Puig) would you trade Gyorko, Jemile Weeks, Ernesto Frieri, and Chris Archer for Adam Dunn, Josh Willingham, and Homer Bailey? Seems like a great win now deal. Right?
