Keep Aaron Hill or Jimmy Rollins WHIR

Postby sdieckhaus » Mon Jan 14, 2013 1:16 pm

Without going into a ton of detail on how our league is set up, we have a 15-Team 6x6 (OPS and Holds) Rotisserie League. We have CI and MI slots, four OF, and two UTIL (everything else is standard). Right now, I have Prince Fielder, Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, and Felix Hernandez on the team. I need to choose between Jimmy Rollins or Aaron Hill (I can only hold onto to one of them). Which would you choose, and what kind of numbers do you expect for each this season? I WHIR, but I am tied up a bit this afternoon, and it may be tonight/tomorrow.

I don't love either guy, but gun to my head I think that I would go with Hill. I don't know if Philly will keep J-Roll in the leadoff spot or not. I believe that he hit in the middle of the lineup last season. His RBI production suggests that anyway. I don't think that he comes close to sniffing that again unless they keep him in the middle.

I am going to take Hill as well but I am a little more bullish on him than most I think. If you look at his last 4 years, 2011 sticks out like a sore thumb. The biggest issue in 2010 was his BA which was so low because of an unusually low BABIP. I could see a .270 - .280 hitter with 30 HR and good supporting numbers. I am hoping that he gets passed over in a lot of leagues so I can snatch him cheap.

That's a tough one but I agree that Hill is the better choice. Less of a risk imo.

I'd go with Hill as well. Rollins is older and more prone to injury. Please help with mine.
