Who should I drop? Too many injured. WHIR

Postby Justblaze » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:34 pm

Who should I drop? I drafted so many injured players that I currently have one of them starting as a pitcher. Who should I drop so I can add a SP like Fausto Carmona, or Jeff Niemann? I don't want to drop any hitter. Can't drop Infante because he is filling in for Utley. I guess the question would be either drop Aardsma, Lidge, or Storen. Storen has least upside I think, but is only one not injured. Or I could just stick with Bailey for two weeks and have no points in the lineup :(

Here is my lineup

10 team 5x5 roto: Re-draft CBS
C:Ianetta, Salty
1B:Miguel Cabrera
2B:Infante
3B:Beltre
SS:Reyes
MI:Rollins
CI:Carlos Lee
OF:Hamilton,Cruz,Pence,Pierre,Davis
U:Jeter
Bench:Torres,Ortiz,Beltran,Utley

Start 9 P:Anderson,Marcum,Shields,CY,Dice-K, Rivera, Paps, Bailey,Storen

Reserves:Aardsma, Lidge

I think Storen has the most upside of the three pitchers you listed, actually.

Anyways, I'd drop Aardsma. I think League may hold onto that job when he returns anyways, and even if Aardsma regains the closer's role, I see the Phillies as a better source of saves than the M's as the season progresses.

Even though I think Aardsma will get the opportunity to be the closer, I too, think that League will get the majority of save opps throughout the year as I feel he's just a better pitcher. And of those choices, I think he's got to be the guy you release.

I agree with everyone else, in that you should drop Aardsma.

I would replace Dice K in a 10 team league.
Aardsma will be back before Lidge. Lidge velocity was way down, i doubt he holds his job.
Aardsma will close, because Seattle wants to showcase him, so they can move him.

Like others have said, I'd drop Aardsma, but I'd consider letting Lidge go too. Storen has tons of upside so I'd definitely hold onto him.

On a different note, why do you have so many shortstops? You only need to be playing one SS and you have 3 of the top 5 rated SS's. I would definitely get rid of one for your utility spot. And I'd trade the other try to get a decent 2B to play in your middle infield spot. There has to be multiple teams in your league that would want either Jeter or Rollins.

Thanks for help on mine.

Dump aardsma without question. Even if he comes back by early may, he'll probably be dealt at the deadline cheap to a team that needs a 7th or 8th inning arm. League is currently the closer to own there, IMO. Storen and Lidge cannot be dropped at all right now.

Help with mine?

thanks for the help.

Aardsma is the guy to go. Storen should be a very good closer eventually, maybe even this year. Lidge always has injury issues, so if you have a lot of love for Aardsma, then drop Lidge. Or, better yet, try to trade Lidge to open a roster spot.

Storen has the upside here. Dump either Aardsma or Lidge.
