lincecum for manny? Haren? Felix? WHIR

Postby kenjinenjin » Mon Jun 29, 2009 2:23 am

EDIT: since the consensus is that Lince for Manny is a bad deal..

what about Haren or Felix? If i could get Manny for either of them straight up do i do it?

another option i was thinking about was throwing niemann into the deal as well and getting a closer in return, either fuentes or soria. what do you all think about those possibilities?

I'm currently in first place in my h2h league, scoring categories are the normal 5x5 ones plus OPS(hitting) and Losses(pitching)

With Beltran on the DL and Lowell possibly following, i'm in need of some hitting help. Manny is available, as well as BJ Upton, and the guy is looking for a starting pitcher. Which one of my guys would be the best to offer him for either manny or upton? Keep in mind that this is a keeper league, so greinke who i got pretty late in the draft has alot of value compared to maybe lince, who i got in the 2nd or 3rd round and would have to surrender a 1st round pick to keep.

my roster:

C McCann
C Inge
1b Pujols
2b Utley
3b Chris Davis
ss Michael Young
ci Loney
mi Ian Stewart
of Holliday
of Bobby Abreu
of Michael Bourn
of Aaron Rowand
of Colby Rasmus
util Mike Lowell
dl Beltran

sp Lincecum
sp Haren
sp Greinke
sp Felix Hernandez
rp Heath Bell
rp Brian Wilson
rp Valverde
p Street
p Kazmir
bench Wakefield
bench Niemann

heck no. are you serious?

Lincecum could very well be a CY winner again this season. Manny has his roid drama, he hasnt swung a bat in forever, hes old, etc. not a chance. keep your ace.

oh wow, and its keeper? Lincecum will be your ace for a long time. Manny is heading into the twilight of his career.

I agree with danvan. There is No Way I would give up Lincecum up for Manny.

I wouldn't do it for Manny, but if you say BJ Upton is available I'd go that route instead.

help please:

keep lincecum...if you want to trade him im sure you could get this trade done but still, lincecum was rated higher at the beginning of the season for a reason!

Keeper league - I'd keep Felix. Maybe try Haren if you really want to get Manny. Just keep in mind that he's in his late 30's and might now have been scared into quitting the roids and might show his age with whatever years he has left. I wouldn't be dying to get him. Certainly try to get a closer along with him if you do indeed give up a really good pitcher for him
