Keeper Trade Question -- WHIR

Postby nacho742 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:46 am

16 team keeper league is 5x5 H2H (OBP over AVG)

We get 4 keepers + a carryover rookie (defined by <150 AB's season before last)

My carryover rookie is currently Carlos Gomez (awful) and I'm trying to upgrade.

My chip is David Wright. He has Teixera, so i'm wondering -- would you do:

Teixera + C. Davis for Wright?
Teixera + J. Upton for Wright?

WHIR thanks.

Just so you know where you stand

Wright/keeper + Huff/non keeper in the draft = Tex/Davis or Tex/jUpton

So the 1st question is, who are the others on your roster that are keepers?

Thanks for the baseline, it helps.

My keepers are: Wright, Peavy, B.Phillips, McLouth + Carlos Gomez as the rookie. The benefit to Upton/Davis is that they can replace Carlos Gomez without counting as a keeper.

I value Carlos Gomez barely above replacement level talent, so to me, the question is Wright+Gomez or Tex+(Davis/Upton). Obviously Davis is better, i'm on the fence about both Tex+CDavis (would be my offer) and Tex+Jupton (his offer).

If your all only keeping 1 MILB you can find a better keeper in the draft, so unless you just don't want Wright who I think is gonna be a top 5 player for next 3-5 years. I'd take either trade since I think both guys will be great producers.

"My keepers are: Wright, Peavy, B.Phillips, McLouth + Carlos Gomez as the rookie"

or Tex, Peavy, Phillips, McLouth + Davis - I prefer this one for '09
or Tex, Peavy, Phillips, Mclouth + jUpton - I prefer this one beyond '09

or Wright, Peavy, Phillips, McLouth + some other schmuck you pick up after dropping Gomez ;-D

I know I fall victim to the Status Quo Theory but

or Wright, Peavy, Phillips, McLouth + some other schmuck you pick up after dropping Gomez ;-D

I would perfer that. I think there are always hot shot rookies or 1 year away players that you could replace Gomez with.

If you do trade I would take Davis vs Upton
