Please post any demotion, promotion or drop of an MiLB player in this thread.
Remember -
Promotions and Demotions *As long as a player is under the rookie threshold (130 AB/50 IP), they may be promoted or demoted at will (no maximum). However, once they pass the threshold (131 AB, 51 IP), they can only be promoted. If the player passes the threshold whilst still on the minor league roster, it is not necessary for the owner to promote the player just because they passed the threshold. But once that player is promoted and placed on an MLB roster, they must stay on the MLB roster or be dropped (New addition 2/19/12)..
If a player is promoted, the owner must make a subsequent move on their MLB roster to free up a spot. The player who is being promoted also must be in Yahoo's database. If a player is promoted, demoted or dropped, owners MUST make a post on the Cafe page in the “Demotions, Promotions and Drops” thread to alert fellow owners.
MiLB roster limits after keeper lists are due *Each year, once keeper lists for MiLB teams are submitted, teams can acquire additional prospects/MiLB draft picks (above the eight keepers). Teams can acquire this additional talent via trades or free agency. However, to be eligible to be picked up via free agency, the players/prospects that the owners covet must be in Yahoo's database and thus the owner must go through the waiver process. Owners can only add four additional prospects throughout the year (for a total of 12). At the end of the year, their MiLB rosters must be whiddled down to the eight. These eight will comprise the owner's keeper lists for the next year.
Please note the new rule in red bold.
Owners can also receive and stockpile MiLB draft picks for future years.
