Veto Upton, Sabathia, & Iwakuma for Upton, Shields and Colon

Postby SpartyTigers » Thu May 02, 2013 4:54 pm

Another owner in our league offered me (commish) a trade (we were negotiating back and forth) and I accepted it. Some of the other owners are complaining and want it vetoed. I said at the beginning of the season only trades that are obviously one-sided (i.e. one owner throwing the season) will be vetoed. This is a H2H each category (5x) league.
This is the controversial trade:
B.J. Upton, CC Sabathia, and Hisashi Iwakuma for Justin Upton, James Shields, and Bartolo Colon.
As a side note, I don't think this trade is unfair (although I am involved in it) but I just want to get another opinion since the commissioner is involved.
Thanks

What's their beef? I like the JUp/Shields/Colon side a little more, but nothing approaching "controversial".

not saying i would veto but this would certainly be on the radar. I mean justin upton might be the best player in all of baseball right now and its not like its out of nowhere. Most were pretty shocked how bad last year was. The fact that your giving up CC and BJ and getting sheilds and Justin upton, i mean cmon thats a little nutty. Everyone is trying to trade CC, personally i hate him, hes on zero of my teams. Id have to think on it a little more but id consider a veto here. I hate to use vetoes to save idiots though so if i were in the league i still might let it go through.

Totally agree, would allow this with no issue

This trade seems fine to me.
