Bottom of the 9th: Dodger Worries

By R.J. White

Super closer Kenley Jansen is sidelined for an indefinite amount of time with a heart condition for the second straight year. Scary times for Jansen, and we can only hope he’s alright. Fantasy owners lost one of the best closers in the game this week. Ronald Belisario and Brandon League are the candidates to fill the closing gig in Jansen’s absence, but League has been the epitome of mediocre this year. Belisario recorded the first save of the pair (with five outs, no less), and he’s the guy you want in fantasy leagues moving forward. For owners looking for every potential save, lefty Randy Choate could be a matchup option called upon to get a game-ending out at some point.

Now Closing

SD Huston Street
Street will be activated from the disabled list Saturday and go back to closing games. With his injury history and Luke Gregerson’s great numbers this season, the deposed closer is worth keeping on your team for the rest of the year.
