Imagine if a starter put up these numbers in one week; you’d be almost assured a win.
| W | IP | ER | ERA | BB | H | WHIP | K |
| 1 | 44.2 | 9 | 1.81 | 10 | 36 | 1.03 | 49 |
Those are our streaming stats from this past week; so in essence, it would be like one starter putting up those numbers. Great numbers for a bunch of un-owned starting pitchers we grabbed of the scrapheap. Speaking of that, Erik Bedard proved to be useful on Sunday
Erik Bedard
| W | IP | ER | ERA | BB | H | WHIP | K |
| 0 | 5.0 | 1 | 1.80 | 2 | 5 | 1.40 | 9 |
Season Totals:
| W | IP | ER | ERA | BB | H | WHIP | K | K/9 |
| 8 | 205.1 | 84 | 3.68 | 71 | 208 | 1.36 | 158 | 6.92 |
Now to find a Tuesday streamer…
Homer Bailey (CIN) @ HOU – 12%
Homer may not be the best name for a pitcher, but the Baileys probably weren’t planning on their son being a major leaguer when they were naming him. (In contrast, Josh Outman’s parents knew they had a pitcher on their hands.) Bailey has overcome his unfortunate naming and turned into a high upside streamer; remember, it was only a few years back that he was touted as the next great pitcher. Ineffectiveness and injuries caused him to be forgotten by most of the fantasy community and written off as a bust. Bailey showed flashes of dominance last season, and as recently as his last start (W, 6.0 IP, 4 H, BB, ER, 7 K). He faces the same offensively challenged Astros team on Tuesday and should be able to continue his success while hopefully picking up his second win in as many starts.
Other options: Joel Pineiro vs CHW, Rick Porcello @ MIN, Jake Arrieta vs SEA, Josh Tomlin vs TB.
David Bay has a BA in Economics from San Jose State University and has been playing fantasy sports since 2004. You can keep track of his work on his blog, streamingsleepers.wordpress.com, or on the forums under the username BayBear. He enjoys long walks on the beach, Sabermetrics, and situational hitting.
