The Can of Corn – AL West Preview

By Michael Stephens

Welcome to the last of six divisional preview shows of The Can of Corn, starring Darren Shimp and Michael Stephens. In this episode we come to a screeching halt with the smallest division in the bigs – the American League West. We go through the West with the teams from bottom to top, as this group included both a 100 game winner and a 100 game loser from last season. Will the Angels continue their mini-dynasty of the West-side? Will the Rangers continue their assault on American League pitching? Will the Athletics turn the tides on their offensive deficiencies from last year? Are the Mariners going in the right direction or could we see more than 101 losses this year? So tune in, grab your glove and head for the outfield, because here comes the Can of Corn!

In a shameless ploy for inter-site synergy, there will be copious refers from one medium to the other so we can fill your fantasy void with everything you want to know about all 30 MLB teams. Let’s continue with the AL West!

The format of these divisional previews doesn’t allow for our usual amount of segments and slapstick pop culture references, but if you find yourself missing “Frozen Ropes”, “Battle of the Wits” and more, never fear because our draft special will be airing within the next two weeks with all the goodies you are used to! And after that, of course, you can look forward to a new an improved version of the Can of Corn every week during the regular season. Buckle up for 30-plus shows, because here we go!
