The season is underway, and most fantasy leagues are already in full swing, with anxious owners scanning the standings daily and worrying about slumping stars. Not all leagues have held their drafts or auctions yet, however. For those who have yet to assemble their rosters, here’s a look at one more auction held at the Cafe this off-season.
This is an actual draft log from an early auction keeper league: ten teams, standard 5×5 Rotisserie scoring, $250 to spend. Players acquired for $31 or more will see their prices rise by $8 next year, those with salaries between $21 and 30 receive $7 raises, $11-20 players cost $4 more the following season, and players valued at $10 or less only have $2 tacked on to their salaries if designated as a keeper. Needless to say, this strongly influenced the strategies of those owners planning for the future.
